The week of the WCRP-WWRP Symposium on Data Assimilation and Reanalysis and the ESMWF Annual Seminar has arrived. We have a few updates:

• The abstracts of all presentations are now available here - Apparently there was a small issue with gathertown last night, but it is now working again.
• For the Webex oral session:
  • When you are joining the Webex oral sessions, you are asked to agree the legal disclaimer by DWD. Please do so to proceed to the meeting.
  • When you are not the presenter or chair, please mute yourself and turn your video off. If you want to ask a question, please raise your hand in Webex (move your cursor over your name in the participant list, a small hand icon should appear)
  • Note that the oral sessions will be recorded in order to make them available later.
  • To come back to gathertown you have to find the tab and press „re-enter"

• For gathertown:
  • Do not forget to close the gathertown tab in your browser if you want to leave the conference area.
  • Please mute yourself in gathertown when you are talking to someone outside of gathertown (e.g., on the phone)
  • If something goes wrong, reloading gathertown is always an option.

The EU H2020-funded project ESCAPE-2 develops world-class, extreme-scale computing capabilities for European operational numerical weather and climate prediction systems. It continues the pioneering work of the ESCAPE project. The project aims to attack all three sources of enhanced computational performance at once, namely developing and testing bespoke numerical methods that optimally trade off accuracy, resilience and performance, developing generic programming approaches that ensure code portability and performance portability, testing performance on HPC platforms offering different rocessor technologies.

The Final Dissemination Workshop will present the results of the project together with relevant initiatives from international actors. The workshop will be held online, registration is not required.
